The Visit of the Isle of Man Army Cadet Force “The Manx Gunners” 1-8 May 04
The Army Cadet Force of the Isle of Man visited 12th Regiment RA over the period 1-8 May 04. The visit was headed up by Lt Haynes of 12 (Minden) Battery with the assistance of a team from across the Regiment. The cadets were 15-17 year olds, both male and female. During their stay with the Regiment they carried out a wide range of activities including basic military skills,weapon drill, technical skills on the Stormer HVM system and a 24 hour exercise covering living and working in the field. The Cadets also managed to visit a number of places of interest, including the local water sports facility, the former SS Headquarters at Wewelsburg Castle and the Möhnesee Sailing club to name but a few. Hopefully the Cadets enjoyed their stay but more importantly took away experiences of what it is like being a soldier in 12th Regiment. Hopefully we will see them all again in the near future should they decide to join the Regiment. 12th Regiment is actively recruiting on the Isle of Man as part of our recruitment area.
